Infrared ear thermometer (model MC-520-E) for rapid ear temperature measurement. The instrument uses an infrared sensor to detect heat from the eardrum and surrounding tissues and converts that signal into an equivalent ear temperature. It is designed for quick spot checks and routine use, with guidance to leave the unit in the measurement room for more than 30 minutes before use so it reaches ambient conditions. The manual also advises not to touch the sensor or breathe on it. The thermometer powers off automatically after a short idle period to conserve battery life.
