The BLUselect Suctionaid tracheostomy tube has a clear suction line terminating above the cuff that allows pooled secretions to be aspirated. The suction line terminates with a connector for suction devices and a port to connect to either a syringe or vacuum control valve. The Suctionaid tube can be used as part of a ventilatorassociated pneumonia (VAP) plan.
The BLUselect tracheostomy tube is available separately for surgical placement or included in percutaneous tracheostomy kits and can be used in both an inpatient and outpatient setting.
Easy to insert
- Smooth arc-shaped design with tapered tip to assist placement and removal of both tracheostomy tube and smooth inner cannula with minimal disruption to patient’s anatomy.
- An obturator with hollow atraumatic tip for use with or without guidewire for improved ease of insertion. The obturator retaining clips prevent obturator movement during insertion.
- Soft-Seal cuff design with reduced bulk and smooth transition from tracheostomy tube shaft to cuff bond to improve ease of insertion.
Helping improve patient safety
- 15mm connector for attachment to a breathing circuit is located on the tracheostomy tube, not the inner cannula.
- Colour-coding is used for identifying size associated with tube and matching inner cannula.
- FEN graphic on the flange identifies a fenestrated tracheostomy tube.
- Device is not made with DEHP or natural rubber latex.
Comfortable
- Thermosensitive material with sufficient initial rigidity for insertion which, when heated to body temperature, then conforms to the individual’s upper respiratory tract, ensuring minimal trauma.
- Anatomically shaped flexible flange for improved patient comfort and improved security of the tracheostomy tube.
