- Increased safety - Prevents exposure by ensuring blood flows directly from the patient vein into the tube.
- Colour-coded - Tubes are organised by colour to show which additive is within the tube. This also helps to distinguish a variety of analytical tests covering laboratory disciplines such as haematology, clinical chemistry, immunology chemistry, coagulation, blood banking and others.
- Reliable - There is no manual influence on the drawing of blood so the process remains consistent. The system is a more reliable alternative to the traditional needle and syringe technique.
