Product Description

This BD Vacutainer K2EDTA tube is used to obtain a blood samples. This tube can be identified by a lavender cap. The tube cap closures for BD Vacutainers are colour-coded according to the additive and the international standard (ISO 6710). BD Vacutainer EDTA tubes generally contain K2 or K3 Potassium Salt of EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetra Acetic acid), which is used as an anticoagulant. This tube contains K2EDTA, which comes as a liquid solution that is spray coated onto the interior surface of the BD Vacutainer Plus Tubes.

  • Increased safety - Prevents exposure by ensuring blood flows directly from the patient vein into the tube.
  • Colour-coded - Tubes are organised by colour to show which additive is within the tube. This also helps to distinguish a variety of analytical tests covering laboratory disciplines such as haematology, clinical chemistry, immunology chemistry, coagulation, blood banking and others.
