Responsibility

The General Manager is responsible for ensuring that this environmental policy is implemented, however, all employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of this policy are met.

Policy Aims

We endeavour to:

  • Continually improve and monitor environmental performance
  • Continually improve and reduce environmental impacts
  • Incorporate environmental factors into business decisions
  • Increase employee awareness and training
Waste Removal

We will:

  • Work with suppliers with the aim to reduce and reuse packaging as much as possible
  • Dispose of waste materials through compliant methods and via the use of reputable waste management organisations, attempting to avoid landfill where possible
  • Obtain appropriate documentation/certification for the disposal/scrapping of hazardous or specialist materials/equipment
Energy and Water

We will seek to:

  • Reduce the amount of energy used as much as possible
  • Switch off lights and electrical equipment when not in use
  • Adjust heating and cooling to maintain constant temperatures to reduce energy consumption
Transportation

Being a comprehensive Medical Supplies Company, we are fully committed to the environment and are aware of the impact we have. We:

  • Are committed to improving our practices in order to minimise the impact of our freight on the environment
  • Work with reputable shipping and removal suppliers who have clear policies in place to support the Government’s sustainability agenda and assist Farla Medical in complying with legislation
  • Regularly review the most efficient and effective source of delivery, for shipments overseas, optimising accessible and appropriate routes to reduce noise pollution, diesel consumption and therefore reducing overall carbon emissions
Monitoring and Improvement

We will:

  • Comply with all relevant regulatory requirements
  • Continually improve and monitor environmental performance
  • Regular review of suppliers’ policies to ensure compliance
  • Continually improve and reduce environmental impacts
  • Incorporate environmental factors into business decisions
  • Increase employee awareness through training
  • Review this policy and any related business issues at monthly management meetings
Culture

We will:

  • Update this policy at least once annually in consultation with staff and other stakeholders, where necessary
  • Involve staff in the implementation of this policy, for greater commitment and improved performance
  • Provide staff with relevant environmental training
